FOR SALE IS A DREAMY FEBRUARY 1973 SEIKO 6139-6005 BLUE POGUE WITH SOME COOL PATINA
- CASE: CLASSIC CUSHION ALL STEEL CASE IN SUPER SHARP AND WELL PRESERVED CONDITION MEASURING 41mm ACROSS CASE NOT INCLUDING ORIGINAL CROWN BY 46.8mm LUG TO LUG. REALLY SHARP EDGES ON THIS ONE WITH NO EVIDENCE OF EVER BEING POLISHED. SERIOUSLY NICE EXAMPLE WITH ONLY SOME MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES THE PEPSI TACHY BEZEL LOOKING MIGHTY BRILLIANT WITH JUST VERY MINOR SCRATCHING. I LOVE THAT CASEBACK INSCRIPTION: “YOU ONLY GO AROUND ONCE”
- DIAL: THIS DIAL IS A TOTAL BEAUTY. CRISP COLOR ON THAT BLUE MATTE FINISH. THE INTERNAL ROTATING BEZEL SHOWS SOME LOVELY FADE WHICH GOES NICELY WITH THAT AGED LUME.
- MOVEMENT: THIS SEIKO RUNS ON THE FAMOUS COLUMN WHEEL IN-HOUSE CALIBER 6139 WHICH IS RUNNING BEAUTIFULLY. THE DAY/DATE BOTH QUICKSET CRISPLY. THE CHRONO FUNCTION IS SNAPPY. I WILL NOTE THAT THE DAY DISPLAY SITS A LITTLE LOW IN THE WINDOW BUT DEFINITELY DOES NOT DETRACT.
WATCH IS MOUNTED ON A COOL PERFORATED LEATHER STRAP WHICH LOOKS RACY ON THIS DUDE. THIS IS THE BLUE VARIANT OF THE CLASSIC CHRONO WORN BY COLONEL WILLIAM POGUE IN SPACE ON THE SKYLAB 4 MISSION IN 1973-74. THIS IS A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE READY FOR SOME ACTION!
